Well pharmacy work is in the rearview mirror. We began our training with a weekend in Gainesville called the Awakening. What a way to start our training. We are training with 5 others who are going to Nepal, Cambodia, and India. What a incredible group of kids. I still can call them kids since they are ,around Catherine and Alison’s age. They are definitely grown up in the spirit.
This week we have been living with a refugee family in Clarkston. We are here for the cultural experience part of our training. The family is a 17 yr old girl named Somi from Thailand and her 24 year old husband from Burma. They have a one year old daughter named Esther. Somi’s mom is also here. Somi lost her brother to cancer last month and her dad 2 years ago. There is a great opportunity to be a missionary right in our back yard to the refugees from over 60 countries.
It has been an incredible experience for Carol and I this week. The refugee families will forever have a special place in our hearts. We have 2 more weeks of training left and a little left on our support. We can see the finish line just ahead. 10 months ago God was just laying this on our hearts to work with AIM. We only started raising support 3 months ago. If you would have told me then that this would be happening I would not have believed it. Through God all things are possible. Carol and I are so grateful for everything. Please pray for us as we cross the finish line for this chapter in our lives and begin the next race.
Craig,
Proud of you. Seth is an old friend and great leader. Keep me posted on your journey!
