Through out the Bible God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. He uses a man named Abram who is a moon worshiper to become the father of Israel. He uses a shepherd boy named David to slay a giant and to become king. Moses is a murderer and a stutterer and he leads the Israelites out of slavery. God does not need for us to be have great talents he can use. He just wants our heart and willingness to say “send me”.
We had our first big group on December 29th for 3 days. We were blessed to be able to host World Race O Squad that had 46 wonderful young adults. After 3 days everyone left except for 13 girls who stayed the entire month of January. We did the usual host things like making sure they had comfortable beds, food, the basic essentials to live on. But doing life with someone for a month you get to do more. You get to know them individually and get to love on them. And yes they loved back. Soon we were calling them our daughters and they were calling us mom and dad. After all God has giving us our own family of 2 wonderful girls that did equip us a little for this. We now get to do life with World Racers every month or so. We miss our daughters and we miss our new Guate daughters and sons but we can’t wait to see what God is doing in their lives and we get to do this again and again soon.
So is God calling you to do something? Are you feeling this urge that God is wanting to get you out of your comfort zone? He will never call you to do something He will not equip you for. All you have to do is say yes.
“He will never call you to do something He will not equip you for. All you have to do is say yes.” So so great, Craig! Thanks for sharing your heart and thoughts!! I’m happy for all the Racers who get to spend time with you and Carol – what a blessing that is!
